Today, the Supreme Court ruled against the Union Government’s decision to stop the Malayalam news channel MediaOne from broadcasting.
The Court passed the order in a special leave petition filed by the company running the channel, assailing the Kerala High Court’s judgement upholding the decision of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting not to renew the broadcast licence of the channel for want of security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
