“KEA” permits wearing “Hijab” (headscarf) to write the exam

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has given permission to wear hijab to appear in the examination to be held on October 28 and 29 for filling up the posts of various corporation boards.

The issue of wearing hijab (headscarf) and attending schools and colleges in the state was the cause of huge conflict. Sangh Parivar female students wore saffron shawls because they came wearing headscarves.

Now KEA has allowed to wear hijab for various corporate boards post-examination. Candidates should be present at the examination centre one hour before the examination. KEA said that they would be checked by women personnel.

Candidates appearing for the exam should bring an Admit Card, and 2 recent passport-size photographs and a Government Validated Identity Card. The Karnataka examination authority said that they are not allowed to go out till the examination is over.
