Udupi: The incident took place in a private college in Udupi district, Manipal, where a student who was expelled from the examination hall for using a mobile phone during the examination jumped from the classroom on the sixth floor and committed suicide.
Bihar-based student Satyam Suman (20) committed suicide. He was a second BSc student of MCHP, Mahe.
“While the examination was in the examination centre in the afternoon, the invigilator noticed that Satyam Suman was using a mobile phone. In this background, Suman was thrown out of the examination hall by the examination supervisor. The offended student committed suicide by jumping from the classroom on the 6th floor,” said the police.
A case has been registered at the Manipal Police Station regarding the incident.
