RPF Constable Murder Case Cracked: UP Police Nabs Notorious Criminal

Gazipur : In a significant breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) apprehended Mohammed Zahid, a notorious criminal accused of murdering two Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables.

On August 19, RPF constables Javed Khan and Pramod Badermer were brutally beaten and thrown off a moving Guwahati Express train while attempting to thwart illegal liquor smuggling. This senseless act sparked widespread outrage and highlighted the dangers faced by law enforcement officials.

Following a tip-off, the STF’s Noida unit and Gazipur police collaborated to track down Zahid. An encounter in Dilshadnagar resulted in Zahid’s injury and subsequent arrest.

Zahid, a resident of Bihar’s Phulwari Sharif, had a reward of ₹1 lakh on his head. His criminal record includes multiple cases of kidnapping and liquor smuggling.

“We are committed to ensuring justice for the slain RPF constables,” said a senior police official. “Zahid’s arrest is a significant achievement in the investigation.”

Authorities are investigating Zahid’s potential connections to organized smuggling networks and exploring links to other crimes.

This arrest demonstrates the UP Police’s resolve to tackle crime and protect law enforcement officials. It also highlights the need for increased cooperation between agencies to combat smuggling and related violence.
