Ashok Leyland supplied first bullet proof vehicle to Armed Forces of India

Chennai: The heavy vehicle manufacturing company, Ashok Leyland, has developed a kind Light Bullet Proof Vehicles (LBPC) and delivered one such vehicle to Indian Air Force.

A release from the company said that the vehicle is an adopted variant of Lockheed
Martin’s (LM) CVNG (Common Vehicle Next Gen).

Adding that the vehicle is fully developed in India, , the release said that  supplying bullet proof vehicle to IAF is a matter of great pride.

“ We are delighted
to have the opportunity to be able to use our expertise in mobility
in the service of our nation”, the release said.

The release added that the vehicle is example of  AL’s capability combined
with a strong sense of understanding of what is required in arduous
conditions for Indian soldiers.

“  We are grateful to be a trusted partner of the Indian Armed
Forces, and we look forward to more opportunities like this to contribute
significantly towards the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative”, the release said.
