New Delhi: Amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed the people to donate plasma if they have recovered from Covid in order to treat the serious patients of Covid.
At a media briefing, he asked those who have recovered fully from Covid infection, to donate their plasma at the plasma collection centres of the Delhi.
Thanking people for donating plasma when the Delhi faced first wave of Covid pandemic, he however regretted that this time, not many people are coming forward.
Claiming that the demand for plasma has increased, he made fervent appeal to people to donate their plasma to save lives of Covid infected people.
”I humbly request the citizens of Delhi, those who have recently recovered from COVID, to step forward and donate plasma”, Kejriwal said.
He said that Covid cases are rising rapidly. In the last 24 hours, Delhi has recorded 13,500 cases which he said is alarming.
Interestingly, there is still a dispute between some experts and the Delhi government over the usage of plasma to treating Covid patients.
While Delhi government still believes that Plasma of Covid treated patient is helping in saving the lives, the experts believe that it has not made effective impact and no evidence to prove it.
