Karnataka Health Minister admits that Bengaluru has become hub of Covid pandemic in State

Bengaluru: Declaring that Bengaluru has become hub of Covid pandemic in the State, Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar  has asserted the need for taking up drastic and immediate steps to tide over the situation.

The Minister, replying to the allegations of the opposition that the government has failed in handling the crises, he said that the government has been striving hard to save the lives of people during this emergency situation.

He said that the State capital has become an epicenter of covid as 70% cases are coming from here.

The Minister said that since CM, B. S. Yediyurappa is taking rest due of Covid infection, Governor Vajubhai Vala will preside over the all party meeting.

“ We are open for any constructive suggestion from any person including the opposition for improving the situation”, he asserted.

To a question, he admitted that the government is unable to provide more ICU beds to Covid patients due to sharp rise in the cases.

He however said that it is not just India but the world is facing such critical situation due the pandemic.

He defended stating that the death rate is high even in western countries which are known for having top class health system.

Making it clear that medical infrastructure can be set up at fast scale, but doctors and medical staff cannot be prepared at the same rate. He said that people should also be careful and strictly follow the guidelines for preventing the spreading of Covid.
