New Delhi: India continues to break old records and register new records in Covid-19 case with the country recording over 2. 17 new cases in the last 24 hours.
This number is the highest single-day spike recorded after the Covid pandemic hit the country last year.
Following the new cases, the disease has reached 1,42,91,917.
Some 1,185 people have also died of Covid in the country which has added to the total tally of to 1,74,308.
Total 12,547,866 patients have recovered from the virus since the start of the epidemic.
Meanwhile, the vaccination drive has continue in the country with the total 11,72,23,509 vaccines administered since January 16. Currently, the country has 1569743 active cases.
According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), so far, 26,34,76,625 tests have been conducted in the country. Of these, 14,73,210 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.
On Thursday, India reported 2,00,739 cases and 1,038 deaths.
