New Delhi: In order to increase the supply of oxygen to States that are in dire need of to help Covid patients, Oxygen Express, a first train carrying Liquid Medical Oxygen tankers started its journey from Vizag to Mumbai.
The train has been carrying tankers filled with LMO to be delivered to Mumbai as Maharashtra is severely hit by Covid in the country which is recording the highest number of Covid cases among all States.
Meanwhile another train started its journey from Lucknow to Bokaro via Varanasi to meet the need of Oxygen for Uttar Pradesh.
The sources that for the faster and hurdle free movement of the train, a green corridor has created between Lucknow and Varanasi. Train will cover the distance of 270 klm within four hours 20 minutes with an average speed of over 62 klm/hr.
The decision has been taken to use the train to supply oxygen to states which are grappling for oxygen as the hospitals are running of the oxygen stock which has been putting the lives of Covid patients at risk as innumerable Covid patients are now on oxygen support
