An eight-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by her three school seniors and then murdered in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyala district, police have said. The three minor accused are 12-13 years of age. They have been detained by the police.
The accused have allegedly confessed of killing the minor girl and disposing of the girl’s body in an irrigation canal. The incident has been reported in Muchumarri, which is over 300 km from Andhra capital Amaravati. The police are yet to recover the victim’s body. According to reports, the class 3 student had been missing from Sunday and his father had filed a missing complaint at the local police station. According to the victim’s father, the girl had gone to Muchumarri park, but did not return home later.
Police then launched a search and questioned local residents, but failed to trace her. Thereafter, the cops took the help of a sniffer dog which led the police to the three minor boys. It was found that two of the accused were from class 6 while the third accused was studying in class 7. They were the seniors of the victim in the same school. The police interrogated the minors after which they allegedly confessed of raping and killing the minor.

A sniffer dog led police to the three minor boys. Two of them are Class 6 students, aged 12, and one is in Class 7 and is 13. All three are students of the same school to which the girl went. During questioning, the boys admitted to raping and murdering the girl, police have said.
The accused reportedly told the police that they had seen the girl playing in the park and joined in. After that, they took her to a secluded area near the Muchumarri dam and took turns to rape her. Fearing that the girl tells the ordeal to her parents, they murdered the minor and threw her body in the nearby canal, the boys told police.
