Bulli app creators Niraj Bishnoi granted bail

The creator of Bulli Bai app Niraj Bishnoi, along with two others involved in this case have been granted bail by a court in Mumbai. With a bail bond of Rs. 50,000 each, the accused were granted bail.

Niraj Bishnoi, Aumkareshwar Thakur and Neeraj Singh were granted bail by Additional Sessions Judge AB Sharma on Tuesday, reported India Today.

All three accused will now have restrictions on travelling abroad without prior permission of the court and were directed to appear before the police once every month.
In the bail application filed through advocate Shivam Deshmukh, Niraj Bishnoi claimed that he had been falsely implicated in the Bulli Bai case and sought parity as his co-accused had been given bail. All the six of the accused in this case have managed to secure bail.

The Bulli Bai app had made the details including photographs of hundreds of Muslim women were made public and allowed people to participate in their “auction”. A similar incident had occurred with ‘Sulli Deals’ being created which had similar tactics. Although there was no real auction the intention behind such app was to target, intimidate and humiliate Muslim Women.

India Today reported, the police, in its charge sheet filed in March, had claimed Niraj Bishnoi asked a co-accused to send photographs of 100 “famous non-BJP Muslim women” in order to put them up for auction. The charge sheet also said that Bishnoi was the first to share the link of Bulli Bai app on his Twitter group and members of the group were fully aware of the intentions behind the app which was to target Muslim women.
