+Saffron-clad hatemonger Bajrang Muni Das, who publicly issued threats to abduct and rape Muslim women in a rally last week during a religious procession in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur has been arrested by Uttar Pradesh police.

Bajrang Muni’s arrest comes after videos of him making threats went viral on social media. An FIR was registered against him five days after the incident.

On Thursday, a video surfaced, in which the saffron-clad seer from Sitapur was allegedly heard delivering a hate speech against the Muslim community, issuing “rape threat” outside a mosque in Sitapur. This prompted the police to initiate a probe into the matter.

He made calls for abducting and rape of Muslim women in the open if any Muslim man goes after Hindu women. Meanwhile, the crowd is seen cheering and clapping for the Mahant’s comments in front of the cops, shouting slogans of Jai Shri Ram.

In a loudspeaker, the seer identified as mahant of Maharshi Shri Lakshman Das Udasin Ashram in Khairabad said, “I want to say this to you that if you tease a single Hindu girl in Khairabad, I will openly bring your daughter and daughter-in-law out of your home and rape her.”

According to reports, the video was shot on 2 April in front of Sheshe Wali Masjid in Sitapur area during a procession on the occasion of Navratri and Hindu New Year.
