Bhilwara: The mahant of a total of 5 ashrams in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, Maharashtra and Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh is arrested by Rajasthan police in sexual harassment and Rape case. Sarju Das, accused of acid attack and sexual harassment, was arrested by the Rajasthan Police on Wednesday. Mahant Sarju Das may have been arrested now but his association with controversies is old.
On December 6, a woman had filed an acid attack case against Mahant Sarju Das. After this, a case of rape and sexual exploitation has been registered by his minor girl.
Bhilwara Superintendent of Police Adarsh Sidhu said that Sarju Das has been arrested after the allegations were proved in the police investigation. Baba used to do bad deeds in the ashram. A case was registered against him under the POCSO Act 7 days back at Mandal police station. Statements of some children of the ashram were also taken.
