Rajesh Shah, Shiv Sena leader removed after son’s hit and run case

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena on Wednesday removed Rajesh Shah from his post of deputy leader.

The decision comes days after his son Mihir Shah allegedly rammed his BMW car into a couple’s bike that killed the woman and injured the husband. According to the reports, the woman was dragged for nearly 1 km before being thrown off the ground. Mihir Shah, who was absconding, was arrested by the Mumbai police three days after the incident on Tuesday from a resort. His father, Rajesh Shah was arrested just after the accident the police were searching for Mihir Shah.

Earlier, Eknath Shinde had vowed that his party would take strict action against those involved in hit-and-run cases, regardless of their political connections or their social status.
