In a case of raping a teenager and pushing her to prostitution, 8 accused were sentenced to life imprisonment by the POCSO court in Chennai. 13 accused are sentenced to 20-year imprisonment including police inspector C Pungalendhi, BJP worker G Rajendran and journalist of a private channel, Vinobaji on Monday for involving in the case.
The special court has ordered the government to compensate the victim with Rs 5 lakh. All 21 accused in this case are fined Rs 2 lakh to be given to the victim. The stepparents of the victims are among the accused.
