Two youth brutally beaten after accusing Karnataka’s AIMIM state president of corruption in a press conference

Two youth were brutally beaten in Karntaka’s Ilkal Taluk, Bagalkot district on Tuesday. The victims identified as Rafeeq Nadaf and Shahmeed Reshmi were beaten by Usman Ghani along with his sons and nephews. Ghani, is the chief of Anjuman-e-Islam committee in Ilkal, and the State president of AIMIM.

Rafeeq Nadaf conducted a press conference along with lawyer and social worker Siraj Jafri on Thursday, 17th November. He accused Ghani of corruption and alleged that Ghani laundered money and misused it by deceiving the Waqf Board in the name of Anjuman-e-Islam’s work. Several procedural lapses were also shown when he was chairing the Hazrat Syed Shah Murtaza Quadri Dargah. A request for an honest man to replace Ghani was made in the press conference.

After the press conference, Ghani along with his relatives beat up Nadaf and Reshmi brutally. According to eyewitnesses, knives, iron rods and iron punches were used to beat the two, gravely injuring one of the victim’s ear.

When the victims reached the police to book a case against Ghani, He threatened to beat them up again. An FIR has been lodged against 10 persons.
