In a significant development, Uttar Pradesh’s Basic Education Secretary, Dr. MKS Sundaram, has assured shikshamitras that they will soon have the option to return to their original schools.
Shikshamitras have been facing numerous challenges, including being posted far from their homes and receiving low allowances. Recently, leaders of the Primary Education Volunteers Association met with Dr. Sundaram to address these issues.
Led by MLA Shrichand Sharma, the association requested that shikshamitras be allowed to return to their original schools and that women shikshamitras be assigned to schools near their in-laws’ residences.
Dr. Sundaram promised positive action on these issues, including increasing the allowance and providing medical facilities.
“The process for returning to original schools will begin soon,” Dr. Sundaram assured.
The meeting was attended by association leaders, including President Shivkumar Shukla, General Secretary Sushil Kumar, Minister Arvind Verma, and Treasurer Ramesh Mishra.
This decision brings hope to thousands of shikshamitras who have been awaiting resolution on these issues.
