Modi government provided assistive devices to over one lakh people with disabilities

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Southern Regional Centre-Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Divyangjan), PDUNIPPD(D), Secunderabad, under the administrative control of PDUNIPPD, New Delhi, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities( Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India organised a Camp for Free Distribution of Aids & Assistive Devices under the ADIP Scheme of the Government of India.


The camp was organised at Shaheen College, Bidar for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) on September 17, 2022, based on the pre-assessment/survey conducted by PDUNIPPD (D). Disabled people (Divyangjan) from Bidar, Aurad, Bhalki, Basavakalyan, Kamalnagar, Chitguppa, and Humnabad taluks were given appropriate aids and assistive devices.A total of 492 persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) benefited from this camp.
The Hon’ble Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India   Shri. Bhagawanth Khuba, graced the occasion and distributed tricycles, wheelchairs, auxiliary crutches, elbow crutches, walkers, C.P. Chairs, MR. Kits, Smart Canes , Artificial Limbs, Callipers, etc. to the PwDs. Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Bhagwanth Khuba stated that the Modi government has distributed assistive aids to over one lakh people with disabilities since 2014.

District Commissioner Shri. Govinda Reddy, IAS, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Smt. Shilpa M, IAS, Shaheen Group Chairman Dr. Abdul Qadeer, and Nodal Officer of SRC-PDUNIPPD, Secunderabad Shri. Tapas Priyaranjan Behera, Shir B V Naresh, Physiotherapist, SRC and other respected dignitaries has participated in the program. All the local arrangements were organised by Shaheen Group of Institutions.
