Scrap Worker’s Son Muhammad Azharuddin from Bagalkot Selected as Assistant Commandant in CAPF

Bagalkot: A youth from Ilkal district has achieved success by clearing the CAPF examination conducted by UPSC and being selected for the post of Assistant Commandant of the Central Armed Police Force.

Muhammad Azharuddin Halya of Ilkal Nagar Weaver Colony is the young man who has achieved this feat. The examination was held in 2023, and the result was released on July 5, 2024. By securing the 163rd rank, he has brought glory to the entire district. Passing the exam on his fourth attempt is another notable aspect of his success.

Despite facing poverty at home, Azharuddin and his mother Bibijan prioritized education. The family earns a modest income from weaving, but Azharuddin persevered. He attended Mahanta Gurus School in Ilkal Nagar for his primary education and graduated from Navodaya School, followed by Dharwad Agricultural University.

Azharuddin received coaching for competitive exams in Mumbai and Delhi, with his mother and brothers ensuring that financial hardships did not affect his education. He expressed gratitude for their support, noting their efforts to shield him from their struggles.

Azharuddin advised UPSC aspirants not to be discouraged by initial failures, urging them to remain confident, work hard, and strive for success.

Mother Bibijan is emotional about her son’s achievement, expressing sadness that his father could not witness this moment. Celebrations have begun at Azharuddin’s home, and a tribute will be held today in Ilkal Nagar.
