At least 10 children went missing after a boat capsized in the Bagmati River in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Thursday, officials said.
He said 30 children were traveling in the boat and 20 of them were rescued.
The incident took place on the banks of the Bagmati River near Madhupur Patti Ghat.
Speaking to reporters about the incident, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, ‘Security operations are underway. I have asked the concerned District Magistrate to look into the matter urgently. The state government will provide all assistance to the affected families,’ he said.
Presently Nitish Kumar is in Muzaffarpur reviewing the progress of various projects going on in the district.
