Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has a Halal certificate for its products

While boycotting halal, trends with boycotting the Himalayas, a pharmaceutical company, which claims to comply with the Islamic halal product policy, a picture of Patanaji has come into light with a halal registration certificate.

A document of Patanjali, an ayurvedic-based product company has surfaced on social media, which shows that Patanjali is also given a Halal certificate for its products.

In 2020, Jamiat Ulama-i-hind issued a ‘halal’ (permitted) certificate to Patanjali, which is owned by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev.

Following the Hijab ban controversy and ban on Muslim vendors on temple premises in Karnataka, another row has been started by hardline Hindutva groups by asking Hindus to boycott the ‘Halal’ meat and its products.

What is Halal?

Halal is an Arabic word for permissible, which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Quraan. The term is commonly used in relation to food products, meat products, cosmetics, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and food contact materials.
