BJP’s Mukul Roy and his son Subhranshu Roy quits BJP and Join TMC

Kolkata: The action which could be termed as ‘Ghar Wapsi ‘ of TMC leaders who had switched over to the BJP before West Bengal elections, Mukul Roy, one of the big leaders of West Bengal has apparently made up his mind to rejoin the TMC by severing the ties with the BJP.

On Friday, Roy who was appointed by BJP vice president, came to the office of TMC in Kolkata along with his son Subhranshu Roy where.

At the office Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee and her nephew and party MP Abhishek Banerjee were also present.

It may be noted that the political veteran, Roy was one the founders of TMC along with Mamata Banarjee back in 2000.

However after the rift between both leagers, Roy decided to quit the TMC and joined the BJP in 2017.

Following which, the BJP made him national vice president as a reward for joining their party.

He got elected from Krishnanagar Uttar assembly seat on BJP ticket in 2021.

The Chief Minister is expected to officially announce the induction of Roy in the party in the press conference.

Roy has already kept himself away from the BJP, has apparently made it plans cleared that they may no longer be part of the BJP. He also skipped important party meeting, giving clear indication that he has made up his mind to quit the party and join his old party.
