CID raids BJP leader Divya home over illegal PSI recruitment

CID officials have already arrested a number of people involved in the investigation of illegality in the appointment of a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI). The officials also investigated the house of a woman leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party in Kalaburagi district on Sunday.

A team led by CID DYSP Sankaragowda visited the residence of BJP leader and Hindu activist Divya Asgaragi at Old Javargi Road in Kalaburagi city.

The CID probe has been sparked by allegations of massive irregularities in the recruitment of 545 PSI posts in the state. There was a test scam at Divya’s affiliated English medium school. The CID team has already arrested seven people, including three women room supervisors of the same school and four candidates who had passed the examination at the same school test center.

Divya is a BJP leader and a Hindutva activist, who has been missing for the past three-four days. Her husband Rajesh is being investigated by the police. Rajesh had informed him during the inquiry that Divya had gone to Vijayapura.
