Gurugram: An MLA from Ferozepur Jirka Constituency, who was named as an accused in an FIR registered following the communal clashes, was arrested late last night.
Satish Kumar, deputy superintendent of police of Ferozepur Jirka and head of the SIT investigating the case, confirmed the arrest.
Senior Congress MLA from Nuh constituency Aftab Ahmed also confirmed Khan’s arrest.
The Haryana government on Thursday told the High Court that Khan was named as an accused in the FIR registered after the Nuh violence, saying the police had phone call records and other evidence related to the allegation.
On July 31, a mob attacked a procession led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Nuh. Six people were killed during the attack.
