Siddaramaiah was speaking against the arrest of National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists. NSUI activists are arrested for protesting in front of Education Minister B C Nagesh’s residence. They were opposing the inclusion of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideology in textbooks.
Siddaramaiah stated at a Congress meeting that we burned only one Chaddi-Khaki half pant during the protest. It was seen as a major crime.
They didn’t do any anti-social work. How is this an illegal act? Protesting against the government is not a violation of the law. The Constitution gives us the right to fight for justice. If the state government doesn’t release our activists, we will start a statewide ‘Chaddi Jalao-Burn Half Khaki Pant’ Campaign.
