Fact-checker Mohammed Zubair Criticizes Inaction Against Hate Speech by UP Priest Narasinghanand

New Delhi: Fact-checker Mohammed Zubair has raised alarm over the lack of legal action against Yati Narasinghanand, a controversial priest from Uttar Pradesh notorious for his hate speeches against Muslims and Islam. Despite multiple FIRs lodged over the past four years, authorities have taken no substantial action, Zubair highlighted.

In recent posts on X, Zubair pointed out Narasinghanand’s inflammatory comment urging people to burn effigies of Prophet Mohammed during Dussehra celebrations. “If you have to burn effigies on every Dussehra, then burn the effigies of Mohammad,” the priest reportedly said.

Zubair questioned the government’s inaction and sought clarification from Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, tagging opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. He emphasized the need for immediate intervention against hate-mongering disguised as religious rhetoric.
