ABVP workers protested against the lecture program organized by the BV Kakkillaya Foundation at Mangalore University College.
A lecture program was organized on ‘First War of Independence 1857- Joint Sacrifice, Joint Inheritance’ by Shamsul Islam, a Retired Professor at Delhi University.
The ABVP activists have expressed their opposition to this lecture program and expressed their outrage as ‘Go back Shamsul’.
The ABVP workers are sitting in protest alleging that ‘controversial persons like Shamsul Islam are being invited to the program and creating a conflict atmosphere in the college’.
Apart from the college students, the police have detained more than 10 activists who came to the protest and shouted anti-slogans. Meanwhile, the lecture program has started at Ravindra Kalabhavan of VV College.
Students of the college identified with ABVP are also protesting on the college premises. In this background, a tight police presence has been made for the event.
