Bengaluru: Social activist Dinesh Kallahalli, who had filed a complaint against the former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, alleging sexual harassment and abuse to a woman, has sought time from the Cubbon Park police to appear before them for questioning.
Dinesh has communicated to police in writing that he cannot appear before them due to a threat to his life and he doesn’t have security. He further told police that he is going to appear before them on March 9, if they are ready to provide security to him.
Police Inspector B Maruti had issued a notice to him on Wednesday asking him to appear before him around 1100 hours today, as he required some more information about the complaint filed by him against Ramesh Jarkiholi.
Dinesh contacted his legal advisers till the last movement and then communicated to the police. On March 2, while filing a complaint, he gave a CD, but he has not shared any details about the woman and her relatives who gave him the CD. To get these basic details, police had issued notice to him. Police may issue another notice to him at the earliest.
Dinesh had filed a petition before Ramanagar rural police seeking protection for him and his family members’ lives. He had alleged that he is getting threat calls and some unknown persons are following him after filing the complaint against Jarkiholi.
