Bengaluru: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that the Aditya L-1 spacecraft, which will study the Sun, has successfully reached the Lagrangian point L1 from Earth’s orbit on Tuesday.
The last phase of the orbit change process to send the spacecraft to the Lagrangian point was successfully completed at dawn. The vessel bids its final farewell to Earth. Now the spacecraft has started a journey of 110 days towards the L1 point between Earth and Sun. After that it will settle down at the Lagrangian point, ISRO said.
On September 3, 5, 10, and 15, the spacecraft’s orbit change process was successfully completed. The vessel was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on September 2.
