Although I want to quit CM post, it’s not leaving me: Ashok Gehlot

“Though I want to leave the post of Chief Minister, the post is not leaving me, maybe won’t leave,” said Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, he said, “A woman supporter told me that she wants me to become Chief Minister for the 4th time. I told them this. He said that I am ready to leave the post of Chief Minister, but this post is not letting me go.

To make me Chief Minister three times, the High Command must have seen something special in me. Any decision to take sides will be acceptable to all, he said.

There is nothing but infighting in Congress due to JP’s cunning politics. Congress is united and no one can break it. He said that it will be proved in this time’s assembly election.

There was a veiled fight between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot regarding the post of Chief Minister. This fight almost brought down the Rajasthan government. This time, the government survived because the high command intervened.

Expressing strong objection to the attack by the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department against the opposition leaders, he demanded that the Prime Minister should intervene to stop the Model Code immediately. He demanded that the Election Commission should also intervene.

Asked if there were any differences within the party over the issue of tickets, he said there were no differences and all decisions were taken unanimously. Rajasthan elections will be held on November 25 and counting of votes will be held on December 3.
