Bangalore: A boy was tied to a pole and attacked; A case has also been registered against the workers

A 17-year-old boy was tied to a pole by eight laborers and beaten with belts and sticks near Upcar Layout in Bangalore. The victim boy has been admitted to a private hospital.

The incident was reported to have taken place in the under-construction building in the wee hours of Monday. A case has been registered against the boy, the boy’s friend, and the workers at the Gnanabharati police station.

The injured boy is a resident of Hegganahalli 1st Cross of RG Nagar. He along with his friend Prajwal was staying in an under-construction building where the laborers were sleeping.

Prajwal assaulted three of the eight laborers who were sleeping, took cash, mobile phones, and other valuables, and fled. However, it is known that the minor boy slipped and fell while trying to escape and was caught.

It is said that the workers tied the boy to a pole and assaulted him. Later he was handed over to the police. The workers filed a complaint against the boy and Prajwal.

“Prajwal, who was wielding a machete, assaulted the three laborers and took Rs 29,000 in cash and three mobile phones from them. “Prajwal escaped when other workers tried to catch him,” the complaint said.

The boy fell while trying to escape and sustained injuries on his face. The boy’s father L Narayan also filed a complaint that the laborers assaulted him. Based on Narayan’s complaint, a case was registered against the workers under various sections including Section 324 of the IPC.

“The three workers injured in the Prajwal attack have informed the police. A police team rushed to the spot and took the boy to a private hospital on Ullal main road,” said a police official. He said that efforts are on to catch Prajwal.
