The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ led by Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi entered Assam through Haluwating in Sivasagar district from Nagaland on Thursday.
Rahul Gandhi resumed his journey in a bus which started from Tuli in Nagaland during the early hours of Thursday and finally entered Assam at around 9:45 am.
Upon his arrival, Gandhi was received by hundreds of party workers, who were present at Haluwating. There the Congress leader was handed the national flag.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra which had commenced from January 14 is a 6,713-km-long march, which is headed by the Congress MP. The march began from Manipur on January 14 and will culminate on March 20 in Mumbai. While the Assam leg of the march will go on till January 25.
The overall plan of ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is to cover 110 districts in a total of 15 states.
