In connection with the fraud case, two persons, including Chaitra Kundapur, have been taken into custody by the CCB Police of Bangalore in Udupi.
Chaitra Kundapur, along with her associates, extorted Rs 7 crore to a businessman from Byndur, believing that he would be given a ticket by the BJP in the last assembly elections. The letter that he was cheated on went viral on social media.
The businessman had lodged a complaint with the Bangalore police. Chaitra, who was absconding in connection with the case, was taken into custody by the CCB police of Bangalore in the parking area of Udupi Krishna Mutt.
Along with Chaitra Kundapura, Srikanth Naik Pelattur has also been taken into custody by the police and it has been learned that the two accused have also been taken to an unknown place and the police are interrogating them.
A case was registered that Chaitra Kundapura and her accomplices had defrauded Billava leader and businessman who was identified as a social worker. It is alleged that the team had received around 7 crore rupees in three stages from the businessman.
