CJI DY Chandrachud inaugurates Mitti Café in Supreme Court, commends service of disabled staff

Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Friday inaugurated Mitti Café, an establishment entirely run by disabled persons, in the Supreme Court premises.

The managers of the cafe include persons who are visually impaired, have cerebral palsy, and are paraplegic.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony attended by a host of Supreme Court judges, CJI Chandrachud commended the Mitti team for serving 6 million meals during the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed hope that all lawyers would support this initiative.

“These cafe members served 6 million meals during COVID. All who are managing it are disabled. i hope all the lawyers support this initiative,” he said.
