Striking back at the opposition parties for using Muslims as vote bank, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi said the condition of Muslims has become like a ‘band baja party’ in a marriage procession where they are first asked to play music, but are made to stand outside on reaching the marriage venue.
Addressing the public meet in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, Owaisi said, “Now Muslims will not play the instrument. Even every caste has a leader, but Muslims have no leader. There is 19% Muslim population in UP but there is not a single leader.”
“I dedicate this address to Kanpur’s Mohd Raees, Mohd Saif and Aftab Alam who got martyed during police firing in December 2020,” he added.
Promising to create a leader for Muslims, Asaduddin Owaisi announced that his party, AIMIM will contest for the 2022 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. His announcement has created turmoil in the other political parties have considered the Muslims as their “vote banks”.
