New Delhi: Reacting over the four-member committee set up by the Supreme Court to facilitate talks between the Centre and farmers, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal on Tuesday said three out of four members of the panel are vocal supporters of the government’s new farm laws.
Asking whether the members’ list of the panel was provided by Centre, he asserted that the committee cannot resolve the issue.
Welcoming the Supreme Court decision to stay on the implementation of the farm laws till further orders, Venugopal said the Apex Court intervened after seeing the massive public anger against the laws.
He also said that the only way to end the stir is to repeal the newly-enacted agriculture laws.
Alleging that the Centre is looking shortcut through the committee, the Congress leader asked how it could resolve the issue which could not solved even by the Union ministers.
He warned that the budget session of the Parliament next month will witness huge uproar on farmers’ issue and all the opposition parties will take up their stand against the three contentious agri laws.
