Vijayawada: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started the interrogation of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the alleged scam in the Skill Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday rejected Naidu’s petition seeking quashing of the case against him. In connection with the same case, the special court of the Anti-Corruption Bureau ordered Naidu to be remanded to CID custody for two days.

In the presence of Naidu’s advocate D.Srinivas, the hearing has been arranged from 9:30 am to 5 pm. It has also directed not to reveal the video and photos of the interrogation.

Naidu, who is also the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief, is currently lodged in Rajamahendravaram Central Jail. The CID team comprising 12 officers started the investigation at 9:30 a.m. in the jail itself.

Naidu has undergone a medical examination before the trial.

It is said that more than Rs.300 crore has been lost to the state exchequer due to the misappropriation of money by the Skill Development Corporation. Naidu was arrested by the CID police on September 9 in connection with this case.
