‘Does the law allow this?’; Kapil Sibal severely criticizes BJP’s horse trading politics

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has strongly criticized the BJP’s actions that have overthrown the opposition governments in states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. He asked the Supreme Court to intervene against such machinations of the BJP after NCP leader Ajit Pawar and nine MLAs became part of Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government in Maharashtra

Sibal’s criticism was through a tweet referring to the governments overthrown by the BJP.

“The BJP :
Toppled by inducement of office and otherwise the following elected opposition governments :
Uttarakhand (2016)
Arunachal Pradesh (2016)
Karnataka (2019)
Madhya Pradesh (2020)
Maharashtra (2022)
The law now permits it ?
Over to the Supreme Court ! ” – Sibal wrote on Twitter.

Kapil Sibal had earlier criticized Ajit Pawar being part of the Eknath Shinde government. Attack the corrupt first. Then join the same corrupt people. First guarantee an investigation against them. Later, Sibal had said that BJP’s method is to guarantee their support. The investigation is weak. Kapil Sibal added that there is no need to fear ED or CBI.

Last day, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and nine MLAs joined the Shinde government. This is while trying to unite the opposition in the country. After joining the coalition government, Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister.
