Farmers alleged that police preventing media persons from visiting protest site

New Delhi: Samyukta Kisan Morcha on Wednesday alleged that the police are stopping the entry of journalists at the Singhu protest site where thousands of farmers are protesting against three contentious agricultural laws for more than two months.
“The government has already shut down the internet and now the entry of mediapersons to the protest sites and ensuing coverage is being choked by the government,” the umbrella organisation of farmers’ union said in a statement.
It alleged the government is fearing that the ongoing movement might reach the masses across the country and thus trying best to block communication from the protest sites.
“By doing all this the government wants to spread its propaganda, which the farmers will not allow at any cost”, the SKM warned.
They demanded immediate restoration of internet services which have been suspended since the Republic Day and removal of barricades from the borders.
As per reports, the Singhu border has become a fortified zone as it is cordoned by security forces from all the corners.
