Fate of the Asia Cup will be decided after the IPL final

New Delhi: After the final of the Indian Premier League cricket tournament, the fate of the Asia Cup tournament will be decided.

Pakistan has secured the hosting rights for this year’s Asia Cup cricket tournament. But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced that the team cannot be sent to play in Pakistan without the permission of the Indian government.

Because of that, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has proposed a ‘hybrid model’. Accordingly, there is a proposal for the Indian team to play its matches at a neutral venue. But BCCI has not taken any decision until now.

Two matches between India and Pakistan are likely to be held in Sri Lanka. But the PCB is keen to hold these matches in Dubai. But organising one-day cricket in the UAE in the month of September, when the tournament takes place, is a difficult task. However, Dubai is said to be suitable in terms of travel and luggage transportation. The ACC is concerned about this.

The Asia Cup Tournament is scheduled from 1 to 17. Teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal will play in this.

Jay Shah, who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council, will call the meeting of the member countries. Everything will be clear only after a decision is taken, sources said.
