I will bring PM Modi to inaugurate Railway, NH works: MP Jigajinagi

He said after inaugurating Railway Over Bridge near Ibrahimpur Railway Station

BIJAPUR; 02 Mar: Former Union Minister and MP, Ramesh Jigajinagi has said that he has planned to  bring Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for the inauguration several important projects including Hotagi-Gadag railway track doubling and Solapur-Bijapur National Highway upgradation project in coming days.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Vajrahanuman Nagar railway crossing near Ibrahimpur railway station on Tuesday, he said since the works are in the final stage, he would seek time from the PM to inaugurate these important development works.
Stating that after the launch of works of Airport in Bijapur, Railway works have remained important for the district in terms of developing better transport facilities, he said that the railway and highway work will give a boost to the development of the district.
Claiming that during his tenure as MP, he has ensured to bring funds worth over Rs. 50,000 crore for the district including the mega NTPC project, he said that getting that much of funds for development is not easy.
“ Some people keep criticizing me that I have done nothing for the district. If that is so, then why are people electing me in the elections? Since those who criticize have no knowledge how tough it is to bring funds, they simply spread canards about me”, he said.
MP said that some people of vested interest had been trying hard to prevent the development works as it gives credit to him, Jigajinagi however said that their efforts did not yield results.
Mentioning about 25 klm stretch of Solapur-Bijapur NH which got a record for asphalting in just 18 hours, Jigajinagi said that the credit goes to the BJP government for that.
With regard to the demand of constructing underpass at Vajrahanuman railway crossing for public, he directed the officials of Railway Department to get the project launched as early as possible.
Without mentioning his bete noire, MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Jigajinagi said that he would not stoop too low to mention such people.
“ Let me make it very clear here. I am a person of the type who does not interfere in the works of others, but if somebody is trying to create hurdles in my works, I will not keep quiet”, he warned.
Earlier, MLA, Arun Shahapur urged the officials of Railway Department to ensure that all ROB works are completed ahead of the schedule.
He also requested Jigajinagi to get a new fast express train introduced between Bijapur and Bengaluru to reach Bengaluru within 12 hours.
Chairman of Karnataka Seeds and Organic Certification Agency, Vijugouda Patil, Former MLA, Appu Pattanshetty and other officials were present.
