Law to prevent ‘Love Jihad’ will be brought in next session: Kateel

The BJP State chief accuses Siddaramaiah of insulting SC by refusing to donate for Ram Temple

BIJAPUR; 17 Feb: Claiming that the State BJP government has brought Anti Cow Slaughter Act to respect the sentiments of innumerable people who worship cow, BJP State President and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that the government will now aims to bring Act to prevent ‘Love Jihad’ in Karnataka in the coming assembly session.

Speaking at the party convention on Wednesday, he said that B. S. Yediyurappa-led government in Karnataka has shown guts to bring anti cow slaughter act which was in demand for a long time.

“ Now, the government will also bring in a law to prevent ‘Love Jihad’ cases in Karnataka. The Bill will be brought in the next assembly session itself”, he said.

Taking on Former Chief Minister and CLP leader, Siddaramaiah who has reportedly refused to pay donation for the construction of Ram Temple, Kateel accused Siddaramaiah and the Congress of disrespecting the Apex Court.

He said that it is the Supreme Court that has permitted the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya. By not giving donations to temple, Congress has only insulted the highest judiciary of the country.

Claiming that the BJP government has given a drug-free government, he alleged that the previous Congress government was being run from the money of drug peddlers and drug mafia.

Alleging the Congress of playing the secular card, he however wondered why the majority Hindu community does not become part of the same secular ideology of the Congress.

“ It is the history of the Congress that it has never laid a foundation stone for the construction of any temple in the country. It is a matter of great pride for all of us that it is Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who has laid the foundation stone for the construction of Ram Temple”, he said.

He said that the Congress, while in power always plays family politics but when it is out of power, the party creates riots in the society.

Kateel said that Congress has only destroyed the democracy of the country by imposing Emergency and putting hundreds of activists in jail for opposing the emergency.

Claiming that Modi is doing a great job and the country is marching towards prosperity, Kateel said that some people, in the guise of activists, have been trying hard to defame Modi.

“ They have been doing this job since the time when Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat and they have still continued their act, but Modi does not fear such elements”, he said.

Later, speaking to media persons, he claimed that several Congress leaders are in touch with the BJP, but the party has no intention to induct them as the party does not need them.

On the question of Ministers such as K. S. Eshwarappa and B. Sriramulu participating in the rallies demanding reservation to their communities, Kateel said that party has taken note of it and appropriate action would be taken.

With regard to issuing of notice to MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal of anti-party activities, he said that it is now the job of Yatnal to respond.
