Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday day asked the Karnataka government to focus on three districts–Bengaluru Urban, Kalaburagi and Bidar — and chalk out separate action plans to contain the rising number of COVID-19 cases and prevent the possible surge of a second wave in the state.

In a video conference with the Chief Ministers of various states, Mr Modi directed the state government to scale up testing and vaccination drives.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa informed the conference that Bengaluru alone reported a positivity rate of 1.65 percent in the last three days.

He revealed that the Prime Minister has directed the state government to strictly enforce COVID rules in all places especially at public gatherings.
