Rahul Gandhi appears before ED

On Monday, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case. Before appearing the ED, Rahul Gandhi had led a ‘satyagraha’ march towards the ED office. His sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seen accompanying him.

Several Congress leaders were detained by Delhi Police amid protests near the party headquarters in support of Gandhi. Congress leaders protested even after they were refused permission by the Delhi Police. Rahul was summoned by the ED in a money laundering case.

Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel and the grand old party’s Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs were holding placards and raising slogans at AICC headquarters in Delhi on Monday. Their plan was to take out a solidarity march to the ED headquarters, reported Hindustan Times.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government were accused by the Congress party for using the Enforcement Directorate and other central agencies to silence the voice of the Opposition.

Both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi were summoned by the ED, but Sonia Gandhi has been hospitalised on Sunday “owing to Covid related issues” Congress’s Randeep Singh Surjewala said on twitter.
