UN’s general secretary’s spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric reacting to Islamic countries condemning the now suspended officials of the Indian ruling party BJP, said that “we strongly encourage respect and tolerance for all religions.”
Although he said that he hasn’t seen the news regarding it and has not read the remarks themselves.
Dujarric was responding to question posed by a Pakistani Journalist.
Up until now fourteen Islamic countries including Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Indonesia, Kuwiat, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Maldives, Jordan and Iraq has condemned India over inflammatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
