New Delhi: The Indian National Congress and Left parties on Thursday finalised the seat sharing agreement of 193 seats of the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.
As per the agreement, on 101 seats Congress will contest while Left will field candidates on 92 seats, West Bengal Congress president Adir Chowdhury said in Kolkata after holding the meeting with the Left.
Chowdhury said the fate of the remaining 92 seats will be decided later.
Of the decided 193 seats, Congress and the Left parties had won 77 in 2016 Assembly polls.
In the present Assembly, the Congress has 44 members while Left 33.
The Congress leader said his party has joined hands with Left to put up a strong fight against the ruling Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.
