Supreme Court Declares Bengal’s Suit Against CBI Investigation Without Consent as Maintainable

A panel of Justices BR Gavai and Sandeep Mehta stated that the Bengal government’s case concerning the CBI’s investigation of cases, despite the state’s withdrawal of consent, will continue according to legal principles on its own merits.

Tamil Nadu approached the Supreme Court alleging that Governor RN Ravi was not giving approval to the bills. It was also insisted that the Center should be instructed to recall them. Even Kerala had filed a case in the Supreme Court that the Center was not providing adequate financial assistance.
