Madikeri: A tiger killed eight-year-old boy and injured another worker in Ponnapet Taluk Bellaru coffee estate in south Kodagu on Monday.
Forest officials said the incident occurred when the worker was attacked. The boy was killed on the spot while leaving another worker seriously injured.
The deceases have been identified as Rangaswamy and injured person Ajja Kenchappana. The injured has been admitted to hospital at Gonikoppal where first aide was done, later shifted the Mysuru for treatment.
It was noted only 20 days back, the ‘man –eater’ killed a boy and woman on February 20 and 21.
Now, the tiger attacked again which created fear among the people in south Kodagu particularly working in the coffee estate.
The forest officials who have began their operation to catch the tiger with the help of elephants and even they have captured one tigress.
Forest department has formed a special team to capture the tiger with continued their efforts. They have used the dog squad in search operation. However, the fresh incident of tiger attack was created anxious movements in the south.
The forest officials also sought the ‘shoot at sight order’ against the tiger which has been claiming human lives.
