Twitter given 28 days to remove hateful tweets.

Twitter has been given 28 days to remove hateful tweets by the Australian Government. It warned the company that failure to comply would result in fines. Twitter has become Australia’s most complained-about social media platform since Elon Musk took control of Twitter last year.

Since taking control of Twitter in October 2022, Musk has laid off more than 80 percent of the workforce. Twitter is also out, including moderators who manage to prevent abuse. The organization also reinstated 62,000 accounts that had been banned for spreading hate speech.

Authorities have warned Twitter amid widespread complaints in Australia. Twitter has very few users in Australia compared to TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. Officials informed that 28 days time has been given as the problem is serious and if the order is not followed within the time limit, a penalty of 7 lakh Australian dollars will be levied every day.
