Two girls were found hanging from a tree; Accused of gang-rape

Two minor girls were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district. The family of the dead girls alleged that they were gang-raped.

He was working in a brick kiln in a village in the Ghatampur area of ​​the Kanlura district. The dead bodies of two girls were found hanging from a tree in the field near that brick kiln. The police said that the family members had alleged that they had been raped a few days ago.

Brick kiln contractor Ramroop Nishad (48), his son Raju (18) and nephew Sanjay (19) were accused of raping the minor girls a few days ago. ACP (Law and Order) Harish Chandru said that these three accused have also been arrested.

“According to the families, the accused had videotaped the act. They kept that video and used it to blackmail the girls. “Because of this, he committed suicide,” said Chandru.

“The victims went missing on Wednesday. By evening, their dead bodies were found 400 meters away from the brick kiln,” said the ACP.

“We have recovered videos and photos of the girls from the mobiles of the accused. It will be sent for forensic examination,” he said.

Chandru said that a case has been registered against the accused under IPC Sections 376D (gang rape), 306 (incitement to suicide), and POCSO.

He said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death and verify allegations of gang rape.
